So, it’s almost the new year and you’ve decided that in 2014 you want to take your blogging to another level. There’s just one problem, you aren’t quite ready to leap into full-time blogging, but your current gig just isn’t cutting it.

Did you know there are full-time jobs bloggers can apply for, based on the success you’ve had on your blog? Why, yes. Yes you can. I’ve been able to get several jobs based on my blogging experience and I’m here to help you do the same. The key here is to – think outside of the box.

1. Blogger

This is probably the most obvious. There are companies that will hire you on staff as a full-time blogger to help promote their brand online. These can be work from home jobs with benefits included. Start by visiting Indeed.com and search for “full-time blogger”. You’d be surprised how many jobs will populate.

2. Virtual Assistant

A virtual assistant is a person who does administrative duties for a company or individual from home. It can include typing, research, phone calls, scheduling, organizing workload and anything related. To jump into virtual assisting stop by Elance and see what projects they have available.

3. Social Media Profile Manager

The title speaks for itself. A social media profile manager essentially manages and posts relevant content for social networks on behalf of a company or individual. Many small business don’t see the benefit of being on social media and will gladly pay someone else to do it. Take advantage of these opportunities, since you’re online anyway.

4. Copy Writer

Are you great at expressing yourself through words? Becoming a copywriter may be the next career for you. While some traditional companies will require you to have a communications degree, smaller companies will often use your blog writing style as a barometer. Having compelling content on your blog will be the best way to begin.

5. Web Optimization Specialist

With the combination of your blogging skills and a  you could make a splash into the web optimization field. Companies are constantly looking for more ways to grow organic traffic online for their brand and optimizing websites is the key. From online partnerships, ppc (pay per click) ads, guest posting, keyword research, unique visits and deciphering analytic data you will be the in the forefront of moving a website up the search engine results page.

If you are considering using your blog to gain full-time employment, below is a list of points to consider while updating your resume.

1. Make sure you have a consistent message and look on your blog and social media profiles to present a cohesive message.

2. Highlight any recent accomplishments, whether they were awards or you significantly increased your following in recent months.

3. Add any software or cms (content management systems) you have become experienced with as a result of your blogging.

4. List your blog on your resume, just as you would any other job.

6. Were you invited to speak at a huge blogging conference or attend industry events each year? This can be added in an Accomplishments section.

7. Name drop. Have you worked with any high profile clients or well known brands? Great, add them too.
